Maria de Los Angeles
Public Art Project

Harmon Guest House will unveil a temporary mural by renowned Artist and Sonoma County native, Maria de Los Angeles on Friday August 23, 2024.  A celebratory reception, open to the public, will be held from 2-4 pm. During the month of July, the community is invited to participate in the creation of the mural by attending a series of workshops organized by the Healdsburg Museum and the City of Healdsburg.

The project aims to encourage conversation about Healdsburg’s ecological beauty, diversity and community and occupy space harmoniously with the building’s architecture. The imagery will be developed via drawing and painting techniques and translated into vinyl to be mounted on the glass facade of the Harmon Guest House, making the four-story mural visible from the street and interior stairwell.  Each perspective will provide a different viewer experience to de Los Angeles’s layered art form. The mural and artwork from the community project will be on view at Harmon Guest House through November 15th, 2024. Artwork generated from the community workshops will be on display with the mural and will return to the Healdsburg Museum for exhibition.

The community mural initiative is the first public artwork and community engagement project by Maria de Los Angeles in Healdsburg, CA and is made possible with the support of the City of Healdsburg, the Healdsburg Museum and Circe Sher, co-founder of Piazza Hospitality, which developed and manages Harmon Guest House.

The project is sponsored via collaborations and the Public Art Grant from the City of Healdsburg.
